Amanda
Kubrakovich:
Young Successful Aboriginal Business Entrepreneur
“Hard
work and Determination always pays off.” This success oriented
mantra is Amanda’s reputation. She is becoming one of the fast
growing Aboriginal woman business entrepreneurs in Canada. Who would
have thought this young woman from Pine Creek First Nation would have
the success she is having in the business world today.
Her
history within the business community has a storied past. She began
her Business Entrepreneurship six years ago and her successes have been
very rewarding and fruitful. Her tenacity, relentlessness and positive
disposition have also contributed to her credibility.
As
President and sole owner of ARK Productions, Amanda was recently profiled
through the prestigious Honouring Aboriginal Business Leaders program
by the Canadian Aboriginal Business Service Network.
Twelve
nominees were recognized as Business Leaders and the ‘Heavy Hitters
in the Aboriginal community’ under this program. Other nominees
were Pat Turner from ET Trucking Services, Darryl Brown from Kisik and
Colleen Simard a freelance writer and business owner of the Urban NDN
newspaper and many more great business people. The journey for each
of the Entrepreneurs from their Dreams to Reality is inspiring to all
the budding Entrepreneurs of the Aboriginal Community. The presence
of the Entrepreneurs from diverse fields legitimizes this process.
Being
a professional service provider in the complex areas like Comprehensive
Community Planning, E-Governance, Infrastructure, Business Planning
and Project Management, Amanda and her company ARK has been well documented
and recognized through our Communities.
The
ideology supported by the Aboriginal Business Service Network can be
summed up by this: “If one loves the work s/he does, one can survive
all the tough times knowing that the end result will see successes on
a personal and business level.”
As founder, President and owner of ARK Productions Amanda has this ‘love’
and commitment to her work. This hallmark of her professional life has
been present since she ventured into the world of Business. She has
an entourage of support; her home community, her family, her husband
and working Associate Boh, her children, business people and friends.
For
Amanda to remain a successful Entrepreneur in the Aboriginal community
and worthy of being a role model to many budding entrepreneurs, she
continues to provide the commitment to her clients and remain loyal
to her core values. According to her, “the key to successful business
is balance. If the good and the bad of every situation is considered
then the balanced decision coming out of it can always turn out to be
a good decision. Quitting and failure is not an option.” Quality
of work will prevail.
